YOUR FIRST HANDOFF

Connect your Bot.
Check that results get back.

You’ll copy a few details between Grok and Vylay. You won’t need to write code. Start with chat recording; dispatched work is optional. Both chat paths are preview features awaiting their own live cohorts. Your Grok usage still applies.

You need an eligible Grok Bot account, desktop app access, and permission to save a secret and an Auto-review rule.
  1. 01

    Keep your existing Worker

Choose its record in Vylay, or create a recording connection. You do not need another import or a webhook address for chat recording.

  2. 02

    Save a recording key

Create a one-time key for the selected recording path. HTTP chat uses Grok’s secure secret field. MCP is optional. It took longer in our initial probes and may use more Grok allowance; the first usage comparison included setup, so its per-job impact is not established.

  3. 03

    Give it a return path

Copy the chat instructions and exact recording rule. Keep the key out of chat. Your existing webhook routine and its separate secret stay in place.

  4. 04

    Check the connection

Ask for the harmless setup probe in Grok chat and leave it unattended. Vylay records its opening, direct fresh fetch and matching authenticated return.

  5. 05

    Try one real task

Confirm the passing probe, then ask for a read-only public-source task in chat. Inspect its receipt and review the returned content. Optional dispatch setup has a separate probe.

A saved rule is your confirmation; Vylay cannot inspect Grok’s secret store or approval rules. A conflicting approval rule may still stop a return. A connection check records what worked at that moment. Vylay cannot account for work that was never reported to it.
